From time to time the SAS hosts observing events where the public is invited to attend. One location we use is directly behind the new fire station at 6117 South Palouse Highway on Spokane's South Hill. There are no events planned for this location at this time.

Five Mile and Strong road is the location for SAS events from time to time. Stargaze 2004 is schedules to be held here on September 18th. If the weather is bad on the 18th then we will try again on September 25th..

General meetings are held in Room 110 of Building 24 on Spokane Falls Community College Campus.

Our Cheney site is located about one mile southeast of Cheney, WA on the Cheney-Spangle Road. Cheney is our winter site because it is reasonably dark and the roads are paved and plowed right to the parking lot. Click on the map below for a larger printable version. Fishtrap Recreation area is our newest dark sky observing site. Located on BLM land approximately 33 miles south west of Spokane, all but the last mile or two is paved road. The SAS is working in cooperation with the BLM to have outhouses installed at the site. A prerequisite for this to happen is that we record our use of the site, so if you go to observe from Fishtrap please make a note of the date, time and how many people were with you. Please send this info to dan@spokaneastronomical.org. Click on either the color or B&W map below and a larger, printable version will appear. Click your browsers "back" button to return here.
